The Raccoon's of Maisonvogue
This one is a very cheeky chappie as you see
As you can see this one was raiding the bird feeders of it's black oiled sunflower seeds ....
We were sitting on the front porch having a cup of tea after a long, busy day and up he or she pops and not worrying at all about stealing the bird and squirrel food munches away ...with not a care in the world
It's very cute to see them enjoying the eggs
I very rarely give them a left over treat but I like to mainly feed them dry dog food and of course they eat all the sunflower seeds for the birds every night
They have been with us ever since we arrived here 17 years ago ....and have increased in numbers and each year there are at least 4 new babies
We would never dare to pat them and are very careful as to how close we get.
When I am putting feed in to the bowls and they start to approach and get too close I stamp my foot and scare them off ...as I want them to stay wild
They are very vicious to each other and will fight over a bowl of food wether it's their young babies or not hence all the bowls of food to help prevent that happening
They look very cute but they also have a terrible odor ...so lovely to watch...we feel very privileged that they trust us enough to come up on the front porch when we are there ...
It's a wonderful world
