Having said that I do love a burnt orange, a muted orange but not the bright orange that so many pumpkins wear with pride
When I came to America 18 years ago I was amazed at all the colors and shapes that I could find in pumpkins ..I especially fell in love with the white, cream, taupe and the incredible blue ones that I found
Therefor a mixture of these pumpkins make a wonderful muted monochromatic display
I LOVE to hollow mine out and put in a container with soil that I can plant succulents in or even a dry flower arrangement ...
Do not put the soil directly in to the pumpkin as when you water it the pumpkin will begin to rot and won't last as long as if you use a container inside ..
A glass vase or even a plastic container or cup will hold fresh flowers inside your pumpkin
Your pumpkin now becomes a seasonal vase
I have been lucky enough to still have the pumpkins in February
An Autumn Day
Pumpkins in the cornfield,
Gold among the brown,
Leaves of rust and scarlet
Trembling slowly down;
Birds that travel southward,
Lovely time to play;
Nothing is as pleasant
As an autumn day
Who would have thought that you could do so much with pumpkins ..you can use spray glue , sprinkle with glitter and put in a fancy draw pull as a stem ...perfectly pink
Even hollow out and serve soup from it !!
And that it has stirred your creative juices and made you excited about decorating for the Autumn/Fall
We would all love to read your 'comments' on the ideas you might have or are creating with pumpkins
Happy Days to you all
