The Season is changing at Maisonvogue
I am noticing a great difference in the garden as everything is dying down and getting ready for Winter.
It seems to have come quicker than most years ...all of a sudden it's all looking tired.
The Spider Lillies have sprouted up and have blooms on them ...the last flower to grow at Maisonvogue before the Winter comes.
I just love them.
It seems very strange that Autumn is showing it self when yesterday our temperature went up to 100 f ( 39 c) ..now that is hot ..though the humidity was very low and there was a warm breeze rustling the browning leaves on the trees and making the fallen leaves dance around in circles on the driveway and lawn.
I can't wait to see the migrating birds that will come to our bird feeders over the next month
My truck has been having troubles and the clutch finally went ..it's 20 years old and this is the only major problem it has ever had ..Danny is working on it at the weekends ..everything is old and well used and the difficulty of taking the bolts etc. off is tremendous but the new clutch is safely in and Danny has to just put the transmission, exhaust etc ..back in place
I have found it ok with no transport ..my Pottery teacher and dear friend Faith has been collecting me for my day of pottery ..I am so thankful to her
On Friday I go grocery shopping etc and Danny has had the last two Fridays off so I have used his truck ..
The cleaning up outside is about to start ...we have the driveway to pressure wash, retaining garden wall to paint bright white, bleach and wash down the plastic siding on the sides of the house, pressure wash the back deck and front porch ..then Danny will spray on the waterproofing stain
I think we will have to get some help in to help us ..as with my arm injury I can only paint the wall the rest is up to Danny and he could do with a little help ..it will be gorgeous when finished
I am truly tired just thinking about it all ..ha! ha!
I just love the glaze I chose. I was experimenting with different glazes and just love it all .. Such a sweet bowl I think I will keep it Or I may put it for sale in my Etsy.com shop ..big orange 'button' at the right hand top of this page I love how the white glaze lets the speckles of clay show through .. This one is a winner ..what do you think ?? Would you buy a bowl like this ?? |
Also I put my Initials on every piece I make
I used it last year on our Thanksgiving table

I carefully colored it with crayons ..don't forget the shading it's very important.
I am waiting for my leaf bowls to have their final firing in the kiln then I can bring them home and put them as part of my decor design
I hope that you all have a very happy week
I am very grateful that you found time to pop in and listen to my ramblings
Happy Autumn days to you
Elsie the Scarecrow will be so pleased to be on show in the garden again
Kindest regards
Janet
