The first week we spent around our home ...going to thrift and antique shops and a hugely fun day spent at my Pottery Class ...with me proudly introducing my boys to my dear friends at last.
We had such fun and the boys made some great items ..Wayne had a go at the potter's wheel and made a little bowl ....he soon learnt that it was not as easy as it looks but stuck at it and enjoyed the attentive teaching and guidance from Pottery teacher and dear friend Faith.
Ryan made Christmas tree decorations along with myself ..we all got colds at the end of the vacation and couldn't go back and glaze them ..but they are trusting me to glaze them for them.
Then we got ready for a little adventure up to the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee, Blue Ridge Parkway and Smoky Mountains ...
We broke our journey by going to Atlanta, Georgia and visiting the incredible Aquarium there ...
I highly recommend it ....the Whale Sharks are so enormous and just are a big WOW !! The Giant Manta Ray's are massive and a good excuse for me not to dive in warm waters ...apparently these are off of the Florida coast and in the Gulf of Mexico where we go on Vacation ..
They also have a great Penguin enclosure and I joined everyone else and crawled on the floor to go under the enclosure and pop up in a bubble window amongst the Penguins ..you can just about see me near the centre of the photo...ha! ha! ...That was funny with Danny laughing at me crawling along with all of the children ..very lady like ..he! he!
They were super impressive.
Cute Homesteads abandoned in the 1800's, House on the Prairie type Church and School ..so many hikes, so much Wildlife ...Elk were reintroduced to the Smoky Mountains in 2002 and are thriving in this Valley and Mountain range.
Take a picnic or a snack and eat it on Woody's front porch just as the Woody Family would have done back in the day.
We found such beautiful ferns, flowers and fungi.
I love the sound of the rushing water.
It will enter your soul and stay with you forever.
We were very fortunate to see lots of bulls rounding up their harem's to keep them close as the single male bulls were hoping to win an harem of their own..
Best time to see them in Cataloochee is around 4pm and onwards.
And letting me share my vacation photo's with you
I hope you enjoyed it
This was just the first night in the mountains and many days of adventure were to come
Happy Days to you all
