Migrating Birds and Bird Cage Thrift Store find 

I was browsing around the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Friday and came across this little bird cage for $1.99 ....It was hideous ...I forgot to take a before photo ...it was bright purple and the leaves on the top were pea green .

I could not find a terra-cotta pot so I put the Creeping Jenny in this pot that I painted many years ago ..with the Chicken and on the backside are two eggs ....it will make me smile and hopefully the plant will have grown so much it will cover the pot.

So I was looking around our basement and found a can of Hammered Brown and sprayed it all in that one color ...I like how it turned out and it should make the bright green color of the Creeping Jenny I planted in it pop out .

My Pansies have done me proud as you can see...but were recently bashed down by a very heavy rain storm...I hope they recover ..I have had them flowering all winter long ...the deck is outside of the Kitchen and Kitchen Nook ..so they were enjoyed all day long 

Yesterday was my very first sighting of Blue Grosbeak's ....I never knew they existed ...We have Grosbeaks that are black, white with a red chest ....but this gorgeous blue one is so beautiful ..I saw them all day long ...

Nature is forever surprising me.

For the past week we have had our yearly visit from these tiny bright turquoise birds ..called Indigo Buntings ...they like to feed down on the ground so I sprinkle seed all over the grass.
They are a joy to watch ....I wish they would stay all season long but of course they have other ideas !!

And looking at the very colorful birds that we are blessed with to come in to our garden.

I never know what will come to the feeders throughout the day.

With all of the crazy weather we have been having nesting seems to be a little late this year.

Today I am at pottery all day and I am making a large piece ..

It's going to be very unique.

It's great fun to make ..a little bit challenging but that is a good thing.

I will take some photo's and show you in the coming days
