Spring Cleaning in the garden at Maisonvogue
We are not complaining about the rain as even though we have had bucket loads of rain lately Alabama is still in an official drought .
I have this very old, vintage concrete bench that I found at a junk shop for $15 ...
I have had it for several years and it had rather sad, grim legs in an awful green.
So I decided that I love a garden full of color and went a little crazy and painted them a bright electric blue in gloss .
I did get my color ...but I just love them being eye popping bright.
If you look really close you can see a squirrel on the round log table.
You can see how the drought has effected the lawn grass ...it barely exists...
I hope it will recover ...I will have to take great care of it.
These Bluebirds nest in our boxes every year ...usually having two broods before the heat of the Summer appears.
It's designed around the old Dove cote's that many of the older houses in England have in the gardens for white Doves ....
I bought the top half at a local home decor store ...It was of course the color that took my eye and the lovely shape of the roof and shape of each nesting hole.
I decided to have it to decorate the front porch.
So Danny made me a lovely stand for it.
Then I painted it in colors that I found pleasing.
I don't expect any birds to nest in it ...It's purely ornamental, but you never know do you.
I am going to change the porch around this year a little.
I am going to spray the star up on the wall a Robin egg blue also.
I may spray the green pots that the topiaries are sitting in.
I will also spray the little wooden table I have to put my cup of coffee on .
And I have the perfect turquoise fabric in my stock to make a table cloth for the other coffee table and the two seat cushions for the wicker chairs.
Let us know what changes you are making this Spring.
