Maisonvogue's Christmas Tree & Other Decorations 2016

Picture
Christmas is coming quickly just 16 days away ...how quickly this year has gone.
At Maisonvogue we have been busy decorating the outside and inside of the house .
We haven't decorated as much as previous years as I am still undergoing therapy to regain some strength in my right arm and shoulder ..so decorating isn't the easiest task for me to take on these days.
But you are most welcome to come inside and take a look at what I have done.

This is our first year ever with an artificial tree ...we love to have a fresh real tree but as our age creeps on it is easier for Danny to not have to log a 7 ft tree up the front lawn and have to saw a piece off of the trunk then lift it up to put it in the tree stand ...all difficult when I can't help him with any of the process any longer.
I saw it my chance to go for a complete change and we bought this one that looks like it has just had a romantic dusting of fresh snow ...I love the unusual texture of this tree ...and how else can I have a tree with snow on inside of the house ...another bonus is that it is all prelite so no untangling lights etc ...just slot in the three parts and switch it on...whats not to love.
Then I decided to ask Danny to make a stand for the tree that would fit in a large galvanized washing tub with handles on the side ..the kind you can buy at the hardware shop.
As you can see he managed it perfectly.

I didn't want to add too much color as I just love the snow so I decided to stick to white, bronze, chocolate and pale gold ....along with a sprinkling of English Robin birds that I had sent over from my island home of Guernsey ....then a sprinkle of glittery leaping Reindeer.

I found it difficult not to overload the tree with too many trinkets ...hopefully I got a good balance in the end.

I arranged my lovely light up wax trees that I have told you about in previous blogs.
A star dish with two metal acorns on it and my lovely snowy cottage that I believe is where the 7 dwarfs live!!
These are all displayed at one end of our coffee table in the living room along with a giant wooden snowflake.
Nothing over or understated ...just about the right balance.

Couldn't be a better sentiment ...Wishing you all Peace, Joy & Love

On a little shelf that sits above the sofa ..I arranged a forest of Christmas Trees along with my lovely sign.

On the end side table I made a small vignette with some of my silver metal trees etc.

Thanks for popping by my friends.
I appreciate how busy you must be at this busy time of the year.
It was great spending a little time with you.
Enjoy getting ready for the big day.
As it is soon over then we have another full year to wait.
Happy Days.
