Here are a few amazing photo's of the Happy Day in Guernsey to celebrate 70 years of freedom from the German Nazi occupation for 5 years in WWII All of these photos have been taken by a professional photographer well known in Guernsey Mr. Chris George ...Mr. George takes amazing photos A massive cavalcade drove slowly through the streets and roads of Guernsey that were lined with thousand's of happy, happy celebrating people A very colorful Church service took place in St. James that used to be a church but now is a concert and assembly hall ..it was built in 1818 ...so beautiful The newly cleaned Prince Albert Statue stands tall over the happy throngs of people ..I wonder what he things of this happy day Is that Sir Winston Churchill I see in that jeep ...and General Montgomery waving to the crowds ?? Note that the American flag is proudly flown next to the British Union Jack Flag I believe this may be an American jeep ..but I am not sure The Guernsey Flag was adopted in 1985 and consists of the red cross of St. George with an additional gold cross within it flying next to the British Union Jack flag HRH Princess Sophie, Countess of Wessex is always graceful, poised and a wonderful member of the British Royal family , married to the Queen's youngest son , Prince Edward attended the whole day and was dressed in the color of Guernsey which is green Many thanks for Mr. Chris George for taking all of these photos of my beautiful island home ..you can find many more photos on Mr. George's Facebook . www.facebook.com/georgiepicoftheday
