I bought my Finished Pottery Bird Houses home to Maisonvogue.

Picture
I finally bought my Bird Houses home .....
I am so pleased with them ...I love how they turned out.
Many hours went in to making them.
The glazing itself took around 16 hours plus to apply.
Picture
This one was my first bird house I have ever made ...lots of detail which I must say I had great fun making all the little items ...
The bird on the roof, the rabbit on the front, the flowers and the ladybugs ...I am so pleased how they all turned out.
Picture
I glazed the roof in bright turquoise as you can see ...I wanted it to stand out and I guess it does ..ha! ha!
I love it plus I have lots of turquoise on my front porch.
Each glaze color has to be applied three times  ...so it takes time.

Picture
The bird I had moulded and I glazed it in one of my favorite colors ...Mayco's Midnight Rain .
This glaze never lets you down.

Picture
I love this large flower ....I have never made one like this before ..I like how it stands out so well.
Picture
The ladybugs I did in a bright red and used a dropper bottle to fill up the holes I had made for the black spots...I am very pleased how they turned out.
Picture
I practiced the wood effect of the walls of the bird house on the back first...carving in each line.
I am so happy with how it turned out.
I brushed a white underglaze on it then wiped most of it off with a damp sponge....leaving the glaze in the lines.
I think it is very effective...Don't you ???

I made a hole for it to be hung on a nail.
And a hole underneath to clean out the house if a bird should nest in it ..
I will put this house in the deep shade so that it doesn't get too hot inside when the sun is beating down.
I can use a gas lighter for lighting a candle and set fire to the nesting material inside.
Then shake the ashes out of the bottom and front hole.

Picture
Here is my second Bird House.
Not as detailed as the first one.
I love the glazed I chose for this one.
And I enjoyed carving on the sides of the house.

Picture
As you can see I used my new Indian carved wooden stamp to decorate the roof.
I then used a new glaze I have just purchased ...Mayco's Robin's Egg.
It has crystals in it that make difference splashes of color through out the glaze.
It's a matte glaze ...and I just LOVE it ....I used it on the rabbit on the previous house.

Picture
.I also used a completely different shaped roof on this house.
I surrounded the hole with a flower.
I think it worked out so well ...I am so in love with it.
The glaze is amazing, again my favorite glaze Mayco's Midnight Rain.
The flower stem I glazed in Mayco's Birch ..another favorite.
Picture
I did the walls of the house in my first purchase of a glaze ever .
It is Mayco's Textured Leopard.
I have used this many times in my pottery creations.

Picture
Finally my carvings.
I have never carved like this on a piece before.
I am super excited on how they turned out.
I hand carved them and enjoyed every moment of it.
I think the flower design turned out beautifully.
And the two birds on the opposite side turned out great and are so much fun.

Thanks so much for popping by.
And allowing me to 'show off' my pottery creations.
I also made some interesting necklace pieces.
I will be attaching the necklaces on to my pottery pieces.
And will post them in my Etsy.com shop in the next few days.
Don't forget to visit my Etsy shop sometimes ..clicking on the 'Etsy' button on the top right hand side of this page.
I have sold one and have got great feedback from my customer.
She said that she ' Loves It ' ....so that brought a smile to my face.
Have a wonderful day

Kindest regards

Janet

Your photos are great (as always) The details are marvelous. I love both of the houses! And it is so kind and thoughtful of you to mention hanging them in the shade so they don't get too hot! You do think of everything... that must be why all your little details are so good! I think it is your English blood too, you tell stories with your art and the listener is rewarded with a sparked imagination!
Thank you so much Janet!
Sincerely, Trudy
