So cute almost looks like a park ...can't wait to see what it looks like in a few years time with some mature plants growing ..the birds LOVE the Carolina Spruce and sometimes the Red Cardinals are sitting all over it waiting for their turn at the bird feeder ...it looks even more wonderful then ..the dense branches makes a happy place for the Mocking birds to build their nests
I have neglected my garden (yard) this year as we wanted to save the money for our Europe trip back home and as we all know a garden is beautiful but it is a money pit ...but now we are back the garden is being loved once more
Not wanting to plant a vegetable garden or buy any new plants as our kind neighbors were going to water everything and I didn't want them to have to work so hard ..having said that most of the plants on the back deck are perennial and come back each year on their own so I couldn't do anything about that .....as you can see the back deck doesn't look too bad ...full of flowers and the Hummingbirds and Bees are loving it ...
My Rose of Sharon bush ...I have lots of these ...they produce so many flowers and they came from the one bush ..I just cut a twig ..and push it in the earth ..no fancy soil just Alabama Soil that is a red clay and they just root and voilá another lovely bush will be thriving the next year or the same year if done in the Spring
Black Eyed Susan's never let me down and make a great addition to my deck ..I split it up in the Spring and now have 5 other plants dotted around my garden
Not sure what this is but it makes a great ground plant and fills the top of the pots that trees etc are in ..the lizards love it and the yellow flowers are a bonus
New project in progress ..we planted this beautiful Carolina Spruce that we bought from North Carolina about 6 years ago ..it was no more than a twig and look at it now ..we wanted to make a barrier garden from the road ...and now we are finally finishing it ...as you can see we have landscape timbers and bags of Pine bark nuggets ready ..
It looks a bit of a mess as does the lawn ...we had such a drought and then so much rain it didn't make for happy grass
Now look at the difference ..we are going to finish it all today and I will post a photo tomorrow ...I am just loving it ...put down 400ft or weed prevention fabric over the grass and then we have laid down 36 bags of Pine Bark Nuggets as mulch on the top ....I am loving it ....so much tidier ...I now can buy from time to time lovely shade loving plants such as Hydrangea's and Hosta's ...such fun
I love anything artsy I especially love sewing and vintage prints and shabby chic ...pretty feminine things to adorn the home
