Fall is coming to Alabama as the Spider Lilies are in full bloom in my garden and in my kitchen

It's a dark and gloomy day with the odd drizzly shower ...so I thought that between showers I would go and see if there were any flowers I could pick to put in my kitchen and brighten up the day

I was so delighted to see there were bright patches all over the garden of the Fall Spider Lilies ...I just love these flowers...I am going to thin them out in the Spring and put some in the new border garden we created this year ..by the road so the neighbors can enjoy them too 

I also was lucky enough to find the Gardenia Bush in full bloom so I picked a few fresh blooms and now their perfume fills the kitchen ....such a wonderful flower but they do only last one day ...but I will enjoy them for that short time and pick some more fresh ones tomorrow 

See how beautiful they are when they have spread all over the ground ..they also like full sun as well as shade ....the butterflies and humming birds love them too as you can see ..the down side is they only last about 3 weeks ...but I am always very pleased to see them popping out of the ground each year 

I hope you are enjoying your fall garden and that you also have some Spider Lilies in your garden they also come in white and pink ..but for the fall I love them this great Salmon Orange color 


Take a moment and go out and see what you can find to brighten up a room in your home ..even weeds can be beautiful in a vase
