An easy Loaded Cauliflower recipe that can be made & frozen ahead of time ..A lovely dish to keep in your freezer for a special treat

Picture
I have made a few side dishes to put in the freezer
Special veggie dishes to accompany the meat and potatoes we will be devouring over the next 10 days or so
I thought I would share the recipe
I have made this on various occasions ..it's really good
Have a go ..If you freeze it...just defrost before heating up in the oven at 400º for around 30 mins ..checking now and again

Loaded Cauliflower

INGREDIENTS
8 slices of bacon,(cook in oven at 400º for 20 mins)
1 large head cauliflower, cut into florets
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon ranch seasoning
¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
6 tablespoons chopped fresh chives, divided
8 oz sliced mushrooms

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Spray a 10” x 7” baking dish (I used a foil dish) with non-stick cooking spray.
Crumble baked bacon in to small pieces . Set aside.
Steam cauliflower until tender, about 15 to 20 minutes..I did mine in the microwave for around 10 mins
Combine your sour cream, mayonnaise, ranch seasoning, fresh pepper in a large bowl. Add the steamed cauliflower florets, 1/2 of the bacon, 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese and 3 tablespoons chives; mix well. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and top with the second cup of cheese and the other half of the bacon.
Bake for 20 minutes. Garnish casserole with remaining chives.

My Final 2019 Christmas Pottery Creations

Picture
My 16" (40.6cm) Snowman makes me smile ..he was such fun to create
Picture
I made 4 Angel wings two large and two slightly smaller
Picture
One large Snowflake that I have hung from the handle of my Curio cabinet
Picture
Picture
I hung three of the wings from this shelf ....the other I just placed on a coffee table
Picture
I also make some Napkin Rings with English Robins on them to match the Christmas Crackers we are going to have on our Christmas Table
Picture
Crackers are typically pulled at the Christmas dinner table or at parties. In one version of the cracker tradition, the person with the larger portion of cracker empties the contents from the tube and keeps them. In another, each person has their own cracker and keeps its contents regardless of whose end they were in. Typically these contents are a coloured paper hat, a small toy, or other trinket, and a motto, a joke that is read out loud, a riffle or piece of trivia on a small strip of paper. The paper hats, with the appearance of crowns, are usually worn when eating Christmas Dinner. The tradition of wearing festive hats is believed to date back to Roman times and the Saturnalia celebrations, which also involved decorative headgear
Picture
Now all of our Decorations are hung and the  house is looking so festive ..we are enjoying it  ...We have finished our Shopping and have a final grocery shop on Friday ...then it's just a matter of enjoying ourselves ...

I hope that your Christmas preparations are going well

Happy Christmas everyone

Kindest Regards

Janet

Pottery Update & Yummy "Hello Dolly Bars" recipe for your Christmas celebrations

Christmas is nearly here ....I was lucky enough to bring home some of my finished pieces from Pottery this week ....
I firstly bought home the dinner plates I made for our Christmas Dinner

I can't wait to add them to our Christmas table this year I love how they turned out  with the Ancient Copper in the centre strip

I have also made some napkin rings with English Robin birds on them ...yet to come out of the kiln but I should have them in a few days

Picture
I also made this cute bowl ..that I love ....it was handbuilt and I just love it ..great to hold my Christmas chocolates this year ..I may use it as a serving dish at our Christmas meal
Picture
I save the left over glaze in each jar when it's empty and let it air dry then bang it out and make 'sprinkles' with it ..I call it my 'Pixie dust' as you never know what they will look like in the glaze ..I love how these turned out they kept in with the colors of the rest of the bowl
Picture
I love the sweet roses I put on the back of the bowl
Picture
I also bought home my hilarious Elf Gnome ...I love the colors I chose ...it just makes me laugh so much ..I enjoyed making it and I love the bell on the end of the hat

I thought I would do a silver Santa Gnome and I love how he turned out

I have had a fun year with my pottery ..I do believe I have made great strides in my abilities ..I look forward to what I can achieve in Pottery in 2020

Today I am going to attend our Pottery Christmas Party ...I will take lots of photo's and show you them ...we will have lots to eat ....I know that we will be having a large ham, mashed potatoes, green beans and each one of us will be taking some  kind of dish or dessert

I am going to make Hello Dolly Bars for dessert

We are each taking along a Christmas ornament and will play Dirty Santa with them and also with pots of glaze that are a gift to each of us from our teacher ...it should be fun

Our first party within our new Studio

Then I will take a rest from Pottery and will go back on the 8th January ..so that I can enjoy the Christmas period with Danny ..He started his Holiday Vacation on
Thursday last week he has over 3 weeks off ...how lovely to have him home

HELLO DOLLY BARS

Ingredients

  • 16 tablespoons (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cups (about a 13 1/2 ounce box) graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups (about 12 ounces)  semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups (about 8 ounces) walnuts roughly chopped
  • 3 cups sweetened shredded coconut flakes
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
 Directions
  1. 1.Adjust oven rack to middle position and preheat oven to 350°F.
Combine melted butter and graham cracker crumbs in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Press evenly into bottom of baking dish.

  2. 2.Top crust with chocolate chips, followed by pecans and finally the coconut. Drizzle with condensed milk. Bake until any crust visible is golden brown and coconut begins to toast, about 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
To cut easily, let sit in refrigerator for at least one hour before serving. Cut into 12 bars.
Bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, though especially if your kitchen runs hot, they are safest kept in the fridge.
    They also
freeze very well ..open freeze them then put them in a suitable container for freezing

Thanks for popping by

I hope that you use my recipe and enjoy making them

Above all enjoy eating them ...

Happy Days
