Just a simple wooden stool like this would just cost a few dollars at the thrift store ...then shabby chic'd painted and decoupage'd with roses ..Decoupage is when you cut out lovely pictures, in this case roses and then glue them on to the furniture ..then use clear varnish , several coats on the top of them ..makes a great , easy and cheap redecorated stool ..one of a kind too
I just LOVE this one ...great find at the thrift store too I would have thought and I believe they used an old poster or blew up the angel picture on their computer or had it done at their local printers shop ...glued it on as in decoupage and then shabby chic'd it and varnished over ....I like to use Anne Sloan Clear Wax or dark Wax for an antiqued finish plus it will protect your creation for years ..it's not cheap but you use very little
This gorgeous bird chest of drawers was achieved by painting it white then sanding down some of it to make it look shabby chic'd
Then the branches and leaves were hand painted and the birds were printed out on to a thin card
Cut out very carefully and glued in place
Then the whole thing was given several coats of clear varnish
So hand painting and Decoupage was used on this piece of furniture
It's quite a show piece
The curtains on the right were old sheer net curtains with a large piece of vintage lace from either an old night gown (dress) or Vintage lace dress with lovely pink chunky satin ribbon added to it ...very effective and so shabby chic romantic
