Our Bathroom Remodeling Part II

Picture
At last our bathroom is finished  ....and we love it ...here is the finished room and below the before bathroom ...

Picture
We are in love with our new taps/faucets  ...they are so neat ...what an improvement from the ones we used to have ..see photo below
FYI .....they were from Home Depot ...make- Moen ...design-Hensley
Picture
Picture
Picture
I am thrilled with the items I made at pottery ...they all fit in to the bathroom beautifully ...what fun to make your own bathroom items ....love them
Picture
Picture
To save a little money I sprayed the cabinet knobs ...and they turned out great ..I did spray them with a matt sealer to protect the paint
Picture
Picture
The floor Danny put down is amazing ..the nicest floor we have in the house ..it is a dark brown ..the color is best in the second photo in the finished bathroom.  It should last for a very long time
Picture

Picture
I found this wire basket and mounted it on some decorative wood ...to make a magazine rack and get it off of the floor.
I now don't have to move the rack when I am cleaning the floor
And I love the look ...
All in all a win, win.

Picture
Picture
My gorgeous metal wall handing just added a pop of color to the bathroom and bought in the color of turquoise in to the room ...I bought it from Hobby Lobby with the help of a coupon of course
Picture
My island home of Guernsey had to be included as well ...I had a towel with Guernsey and a Donkey on it so I folded it up and it sits on the flush tank ...the donkey is the nick name we have for Guernsey born people as we tend to be very stubborn ....yes I am stubborn too ...ha! ha!
Picture
Picture
I sprayed an old wooden stool to fit in to the bathroom and this is the toilet brush holder I made at pottery ..I need to find a nice brush ...tough to find one but one day I will
Picture
Here is the cute bin/trash can I made at pottery and could incorporate turquoise in to it because of the metal tree wall hanging ...very pleased how my highlighted butterflies turned out
Picture
Picture
Picture
I made two soap dishes for bar soap ...and put the butterflies on them t
oo
Very pleased how they turned out .
They have a little oval foot on the bottom of them to raise them up from the counter tops
Fun to make

I also made some little cups to stand the liquid soap pumps in ...I like the look ...don't you

I love the bottles, they are glass and have a little glass dimple on the front which has a leather seal in the centre

I got these from T J Max ...what's not to love
Picture
Loving my little clock ...only $8 from Hobby Lobby..it has a little draw at the bottom with a pull ring
Picture
The candle urn has been in our house for about 16 years ...I thought it was perfect for the bathroom
Picture
Picture
We love the quality of this shower curtain I found at World Market ..$34.99 it's called ' Wedding Blanket' ..I backed it by hanging a plain cream fabric curtain behind it and then the plastic shower curtain liner ...
Picture
Picture
An added touch with a cute flush handle that matches the toilet paper holder as well ...Danny had some flooring left over so he put floors inside of the cabinets ...now it's wonderful to clean and very hardy
Looks really great when you open the doors

Picture
After all of this work we are both dog tired and are having a rest till we tackle the next remodel
I am going to paint our kitchen cabinets ...they too are just looking tired
But we have projects to do in the garden before it gets too hot to work out there
Pressure washing driveways, walls etc ...all the busy Spring chores
I hope that if you are remodeling you are having fun doing it

Thanks for looking in

Happy Days

Our Remodeled Bathroom Part I

Picture
We are almost at the finishing line from remodeling our Master Bathroom ...it was time as we last did it 18 years ago!!
Picture

Picture
It was so tired ...I have wanted to do it for a few years now ..but at last we are nearly there ...
Today should see it finished apart from some pottery items I am making or waiting to put in the Kiln
In it's day purple was the in thing and my purple rose shower curtain was the rage ..I used to see it everywhere ...but we had to update it for 2019 ...
I am having enormous fun designing it ...so great to go and pick an choose items in the shop for it.
I painted all of the walls and wood work etc ..and Danny has done all the hard work
Putting in new faucets/taps, flooring etc..he has done a grand job
Picture
Picture
I wanted one feature wall so Danny put up some bead board on the main wall and I painted it a lovely coffee mocha color ...
We just love it
It looks great against the soft warm cream walls

Picture
Picture
Picture
I had this shelf on the wall for the 18 years but it was cream so I painted it to match the bathroom ..this will eventually have a lovely wrought iron clock on it
You can also see the lovely cream walls and the color I put on the previously white door
Picture
Picture
Picture
This stool has also been in the bathroom for 18 years ..it was just a plain pine so I painted it an oiled bronze on the legs and put this pretty French design on the top
We are very pleased with it

Picture
I am also thrilled to be making items for the bathroom myself in pottery ..this is my toothbrush holder ..we will both have one each once I am finished them .
Below you can see it finished along with a smaller pot I made to fit Qtips in
Loving them ...having so much fun designing and making them

Picture
I am also making a toilet brush holder, waste paper bin/garbage can, 2 bar soap dishes , two little cups to stand the liquid soap bottles in, a water drinking tumbler for night time drinks, a little plate to sit a candle on and anything else I can imagine up .
I love that they are my own design and no one in the world will ever have them like mine
I am loving the old fashioned glaze I have done on them
They turned out just as I hoped.

Picture
The toilet brush holder just after I made it
Picture
Here is the finished item ..I need to buy a new brush
Picture
This is the inside of it
Picture
Here it is glazed ready to go back in the kiln for it's final firing
Picture
I am just loving that glaze
Picture
Here are all three together
Picture
I made two of these bar soap dishes , one each ....I used a new roller that I bought from a seller in Poland on Etsy and am just loving it ..
I have to just glaze these and get them in the kiln for their final firing
They have a little oval base under them so they stand up nicely on the counter top

Picture
Well that is part I ..I will post another two parts ...
Next time it will be about the faucets/taps , flooring etc ...
I am loving the flooring I chose

Thanks so much for popping in

I hope that you enjoyed reading about our little remodeling we have been doing at weekends lately

Happy Days to you all

You could also make great gift tags out of this lovely lady above by minimizing it in your print out
Also if You don't like the 'A Joyful Easter' on the bottom of the picture you could easily cut it off when making either a card or Gift tag
Picture
Print out any to these lovely prints

And place them on to the Easter place setting

At your Easter table

Would look lovely just on the edge of this plate

With the napkin and the Crocus flowers

To the side

You can also make the gift tags

And add the prettiest ribbon

Or a ribbon made from Burlap (Hessian)

And place them on the plate

They can then be taken home by your guest

And even used as a bookmark

Spray adhesive them on to some great Stock Card

One that is nice and sturdy would also be great

Picture
What a great idea ..cut some egg cartons ...and wash out some used eggs and put little posies of flowers in them ..you could do one for each place setting if there is room on your table ...I love this idea and will be doing it on my own table settings
