Pottery Update ....My First Bird House

Here is the Bird House I have been making at Pottery Classes yesterday.
I have been going to Pottery Lessons for 11 months now ....
If you had told me that I was going to make a Bird House like this I would have laughed out loud.
But here it is .
Ready for the Bisque firing in the Kiln ....once done I have to glaze it and then it wil have it's final firing in the Kiln..

I decided I wanted it to look like it's wooden and practiced on the back of the house.
I loved carving it out and decided I liked it very much and I have put it on each side of the house.

I love the little perch I made for it .

I really liked making these flowers for the roof ..and my pattern on the roof worked out great ...the white pieces will burn off in the kiln.

It's all in the Details.

I love the large flower on the roof.

I will hand it on the big white retaining wall that goes down our driveway.

I can't wait to see it all finished.
That will be a few more weeks yet.
Glazing it will be fun but super time consuming

Pottery Update from Maisonvogue ....Jewelry

Here is an update on some of my pottery items ..I have bought home .
I have made some large items but can't post them as they are gifts.
I don't want to ruin the surprise
But I will post them once the gifts have been received.
I just love this piece I made ...I think it will go with most of my outfits
I just love how the glaze reacted and how the brown darkened on all of the ridges.

I used the same design on all of the pieces but in different ways and shapes.
The cappuccino colored glaze is new and it's called Maycoshino ...available on Amazon .
I just love it !! you will see this glaze used in many ways in the future on my pieces.

I love how I used a necklace with ribbon entwined in it.

I used several colors ...I am not so keen on the purple ....it's just so flat and one color .

I also used one of my other new glazes Mayco's Midnight Rain ...also from Amazon
I just am in love with this color ...it's has so much depth of color.
The depth of color shows better in the photo below.

I am working on a bird house now ....these photo's are of the one my teacher Faith was making...I had already covered mine with a plastic covering so it won't dry out ...for me to continue working on next week.
But you get the idea ..I will make a different roof to mine ...it will get all decorated ..have to make a hole for the birds to enter and a hole for the screw to put it on the white wall going down our driveway ..
It's a little difficult and time consuming to make ...we had to make the pattern, cut it out and get it put together ....inside on all of the joins we had to put 'coils' on each join and smooth them in to the joins so you can hardly see them ....a lot of hand work to make it very strong ....I loved making it ..very interesting and hopefully will finish next week and share photo's of my birdhouse

I am planning on making about 4 bird houses in different styles to hand on walls and hang from trees in my garden.
