A Christmas Wreath made from JOY !!!

Picture
How are your Holiday/Christmas decorations going ??    Are you making some of them yourselves ?
I love to make something different every year.
This year one of the things I am making is this small  'JOY' wreath to hang on the wall above the large shelf that I will decorate behind our sofa.

Picture
Firstly I bought two 8.5" Curlique Letters by Artminds at Michaels along with a Grapevine wreath.
I painted the two letters with just regular white house paint , the one I used on the baseboards and door frames in our kitchen ...I did two coats to make them look good.

I then attached them to the wreath with my trusty glue gun ...I had to put a lot on them and hold them whilst they dried ..you could also rest the letters on a bowl etc...till the dry ...PLEASE have a bowl of ICED WATER incase you get some HOT GLUE on your fingers ...place your fingers in the cold water for a moment or two and then you will be able to peel off the cooled glue.

I didn't want to spend too much as I may only use this wreath for one year so I went to Dollar General and bought this lovely Reindeer ...two for $1 would you believe, they have them in Red, Silver or Gold , they are decorated the same on both sides.  I also just Hot Glued it in place.
Picture
I had some dried Cotton Plants and I clipped them to fit the places I wanted to put them on the wreath ...I need to pull off a few 'glue strings' off of them it seems in this photo.
Picture
I left a little of the 'Cotton Bud' in the seed pods.

I also bought these cute bells at Dollar General ...two sets of two for just $1 also ...a great bargain.
They also come in Brown,Red,Green and Silver.

I would love to know if you are going to make a wreath for yourself

Please leave a 'comment' for us all to share and read

I am making some large wreaths for the two front windows and the front door on the front porch but will be adding fresh greenery from the woods and garden ..So I will post them when they are ready to put up in the first week of December ..

Happy Crafting

Kindest Regards

Janet

Beautiful and affordable! Thank you Janet, I love to make decorations for Christmas. Your JOY is truly inspiring. And thank you for the tip on using the hot glue gun. I have given myself some nasty burns because I didn't have the sense to have ice water handy!
I am also planing to make your chocolate, orange, pumpkin bread. It sounds divine.

Hi Trudy ...thanks so much for you lovely comments...I do appreciate them very much ...yes I too have had some nasty burns hence the ice water is always by my side when I am using my gun...it works really well ...I do hope you love the pumpkin bread ..sometimes I make double the quantity and slice them both up and freeze them in zip lock bags so I have plenty if I have unexpected company ..for an afternoon treat with tea or toasted for breakfast ...I have not been blogging this weekend as we had a ten minute storm that knocked out power for over 26,000 of us ...we were with out power for 18 hours ..it was cold and miserable but we are back to normal now ..I am photo shooting something for my next blog at this moment..enjoy getting ready for the holidays and if we don't speak before please have a wonderful Thanksgiving day ...blessings Janet
