May is such a busy time at Maisonvogue
Trying to beat the heat and getting all the chores and maintenance done outside
Not only with my flower beds but maintenance of the house which has to be power washed
And the back deck and front porch have to be waterproofed and stained
White retaining garden wall has to be painted a lovely fresh white again
And the whole of the driveway has to be power washed , gutters cleaned etc...
It is already in the mid 90's so time is marching on
I am going to plant 75 new plants today ...mainly Impatiens, begonias, sun impatiens, and a lovely new Indian Feather plant that is PINK ..it is going to be planted right next to all the white ones I have ..so happy with that buy
My Wild flower garden is growing very well ..I had my first show of candy tuft Cosmos .
And my forever faithful Sweet William never lets me down .it has double the blooms this year
The photo shows you some of them that I cut to bring inside
They remind me of my Grandmother's garden and the scent is so old fashioned and comforting.
I am going to enter an Amaco completion ..abouy glazing ..we have to use an Obsidian black glaze as the base color then put other glazes on top ...send in a photo of it and the prize is a $100's worth of Amaco Glaze ...so an easy completion plus I have a cute crown for myself ..it's ready to be put in the first bisque firing.
on QVC ...they can go in the oven, freezer,etc...I just love them.
just 0.99c for each one
Danny and I have used them several times already ..I like to fill the bowl with a really healthy salad ..and put coleslaw, bread, crackers or fruit on the plate.
Now with my injured arm my sewing is limited so why do I need so much fabric ??
I sorted out the ones I wanted to keep ..shown below in the plastic tub
And the rest all went to the thrift store with a stop first at Pottery for the Pottery ladies to take their pick of the fabrics etc ...then I went off to American Thrift Stores of America and unloaded a truck load of items
I will have to spend this Monday still clearing out, cleaning and putting items back in to what will be a very pleasurable closet to open the doors of ..no more mess !!!
Then Face Timing with my eldest Son for the afternoon whilst having a much needed rest.
Wednesday you will know by now is my Pottery Day.
I was able to glaze my Ancient Italian Village pot ...
I didn't use a glaze as such ..I used a Manganese wash instead.
I had to brush it on and the pot looked jet black as if it had been in a fire
Then I had to wipe it off ..leaving it staining the nooks and crannies of the windows, brick work, doors, trees etc...
Such a fun wash to do.
Once it has been fired it will look very different to this ..just like an ancient village.
Yesterday Friday is shopping day
I first went to visit at my dear, dear Friend Heather's to meet her new Grand Child a little boy called Johnathon Wayne ...he is extra cute I was smitten the moment I laid eyes on him
I was thrilled to come home with some lovely brown Chicken eggs and lots of wonderful Quail eggs
As Heather has lots of lovely animals including ones that pay you back with eggs
I can't wait to eat them this week
Thank you Heather XXX
It was a lovely visit and I will tell you more tomorrow on America's Mother's Day.
Shopping, buying moss for my moss topiaries, miracle grow at the garden center
Then a full weeks grocery shop ...
Today I am putting in the soil 75 lovely plants ..some in the garden , some in planters, concrete planters .
I know I am going to have fun
Have a wonderful Mother's Day Weekend
It's going to be a hot one here in Alabama
