As most of you will know we have been remodeling our kitchen taking it from an outdated, worn out French Country to a much cleaner look of a mix of French Country and French Industrial
Here is a piece of art work I created for the kitchen ..I am very happy with the result and will show you how I created it
So I saw these old vintage tin roof tiles hanging on a wall ...I bought them for the grand total of $5 for the pair
But I had a vision !!
Danny had bought me the chicken wire hanging hook rack for part of my birthday present in July so it had become my inspiration
I used a 'fine pointed Sharpie pen' and first wrote some french script on the tin tile then carefully hand drew the bee crest.... I am pretty pleased on how it turned out
I also drew a sheep on the other side ...just very lightly so that it didn't take away from my French Bee crest ..
I then used Anne Sloan Clear Wax and put a lovely coat of it on the tin so that it will be easy to keep clean
I LOVE Anne Sloan Wax ...it's finishes everything off and gives a great protection ..super easy to use
Here it is in it's final resting place.
I just LOVE it and can change it around for the Season's ..you have a little peak of the new wooden floor ...we should finish it this weekend ..hence the black oblongs along the floor ..spacers that will be removed once the beading has been put along the sides of the floor
Here is curious Toby checking out the laundry cupboard
Before the washer /dryer and the laundry doors are put back
I think he approves
I hope you enjoyed looking at my tin tile creation
I am so glad I went roaming around the junk shop that day
Happy Days and Happy Decorating to you all
Would LOVE to hear your 'comments' on it
